Moore Brothers Blue Chintz Antique Teacup Trio

Sweet as country calico, this blue wheat and floral chintz was first registered in 1888! Note the fancy handle and fluted cup. This charming thin china Moore Brothers blue chintz cup, saucer and plate date conservatively by its mark to circa 1888-1905. The Moore Bros. mark was no longer used after 1905. The word England was added after 1891 creating the possibility this set is dated 1888-1891. Either way, she's a lovely old lady! This set is in fair condition with good clear color, well matched chintz, minor gold loss and crazing, no chips, a tight VERTICAL HAIRLINE CRACK at the cup edge approximately 3/4" in length. Please Note: The handle has a manufacturer defect where it attaches to the cup. See picture below. The set makes an excellent addition to a collection with very limited and careful use. It arrives in a glossy black gift box. We include a card with the maker, pattern name when known, any history we can ascertain and the approximate age of the set. It makes a lovely gift! Hand wash recommended. Made in England. One Available.
