An unusual piece and beautiful example of the elusive Grapes & Roses chintz! This pattern was used by at least three potteries: Grimwade Bros, Shelley and the American company, Taylor Smith & Taylor. It is found more often on vases than dinner or tea ware. This authentic Taylor, Smith & Taylor Grapes & Roses chintz cup, saucer and plate, in the Iona shape, is dated by its mark to circa 1917-1927 when the Iona shape was produced. It is in very good condition with good clear color, some crazing and no cracks, chips or repairs. We include a card with the maker, pattern name when known, any history we can ascertain and the approximate age of the set. A lovely collector's set!
